when do I need it?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For both sales and rentals<\/h2>\n\n<p>According to the Energy Performance of Buildings Act, the term &#8216;building&#8217; means the building as a whole or a <strong>separate part<\/strong> thereof, i.e. including the dwelling and non-residential premises (\u00a7 2(3)).  <\/p>\n\n<p>According to the law, the owner of an existing building (apartment) is obliged to hand over a valid energy certificate (or a copy) to the new owner\/tenant when selling or renting the building (apartment) (Section 8(2)(c) of Act No. 555\/2005 Coll.).<\/p>\n\n<p>Energy certification is mandatory<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>for buildings or separate parts that are sold or leased to a new tenant,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>for buildings where more than 250<sup>m2 of the total <\/sup>floor area is occupied by a public authority and frequently visited by the public,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>on completion of a new building or major renovation of an existing building;
